Gyeonggi-do, Korea --- Australian and four-time Match Racing World Champion Peter Gilmour emerged as one of the on-form skippers in a feisty first day of racing at the Korea Match Cup. Gilmour finished the first Qualifying Session with four wins from five races including important victories over fellow countryman Torvar Mirsky and New Zealand's Phil Robertson.

The ISAF World Match Racing Tour (WMRT) is the world’s leading professional sailing series featuring 9 World Championship events across the globe.

In 2011, the World Tour will offer a total US$1.75million in prize money with points awarded at each event culminating in the crowning of the “ISAF Match Racing World Champion”.

The prize pool will include a US$500,000 bonus fund for the top nine teams in the Championship.

Head-to-head racing takes place close to the shore for the general public to follow the races as virtual on-the-water stadiums.
