| Softball Back In Olympics? |
| Softball officially became an Olympic sport in Atlanta in 1996, later it was voted out as an Olympic sport following the completion of the Beijing Olympics in 2008. Softball will not be played in London in 2012, but many are hopeful that the sport will be emphatically reinstated in time for the 2016 Olympic Games.
The list of sports will be decided over the coming months with an announcement expected in Copenhagen, Denmark in October. Earlier this week in Lausanee, Switzerland the governing bodies of seven sports including softball, submitted formal presentations to the IOC in an effort to convince them of their respective worthiness.
