6) Michael Whitaker - Great Britain's Whitaker stormed to victory at the fourth leg of the 2009/2010 Rolex FEI World Cup Jumping series in Verona, Italy

5) Meb Keflezighi –  Keflezighi pointed to the "USA" emblazoned across his uniform when crossing the finish line in Central Park to win the New York City Marathon two years after suffering a near-career-ending hip injury during the Olympic Trials

4) Maxim Deviatovski - Deviatovski of Russia competes at the rings during the Champions Trophy 2009 at the Porsche Arena in Stuttgart, Germany

3) Trey Hardee - The overall winner of the men’s decathelon challenge was the USA’s Trey Hardee who took the overall victory via a personal best performance at the World championships in Berlin

2) Marieke Guehrer – Guehrer continued her outstanding 2009 form setting a new world record for the 50m backstroke at the FINA Arena Swimming World Cup in Moscow
